Ron holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Quality Management, Operations Management / Strategy, and Statistics. He’s been an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) since the 1990’s and has a variety of other notable Quality and Food Safety credentials. Ron has worked in the food industry for over 30+ years. His food industry roots began with a private national commercial baking company located on Long Island, NY. During his tenure at the baking company, he held a series of upward mobile career assignments within the production and quality assurance departments. In 1989, a large multi-food products conglomerate acquired the private baking company and shortly thereafter, Ron accepted a newly expanded role in Corporate Quality Assurance and relocated to the company’s headquarters located in the Chicagoland area. This opportunity was pivotal and transformational in Ron’s career. This new role enabled him to learn a broader series of food sector categories and associated technology through “hands-on” application and coursework. His diversified knowledge and experience base spans across a spectrum of food, dessert, beverage and related primary packaging manufacturing categories. These categories include; meat (cooked, fermented), dairy (natural cheeses, process cheese, cultured / yogurt, ice cream, etc.), liquid / powdered beverages, coffee, chocolate confections, aseptic desserts, seafood (fish and shellfish), condiments, primary packaging (plastics, laminates, paperboards, coatings) and many other food sector categories. Additionally, Ron held senior Quality and Food Safety management positions at other companies, where he successfully re-designed, developed and reorganized the Quality Assurance function to streamline and improve the overall function’s effectiveness.
